Fuji Gotemba Distillery

富士御殿場蒸溜所

Sits on the slope of Mount Fuji and makes both malt and three different styles of grain whisky on site, which almost no distillery anywhere does. Underrated abroad because Kirin barely markets it.

Checked 2026-10-05. Kirin says the exhibition area, shop, paid tasting, forest and observatory can be used without a reservation. Guided distillery tours are paid and require advance reservation (standard tour ¥500 tax included, age 20+). Closed Mondays unless a public holiday, then the next weekday; year-end and New Year closures also apply. The guided tour is described as Japanese-language only.
