The highest whisky distillery in Japan at around 798m, in the Central Alps. Mothballed through the 1990s downturn and restarted in 2011, which is why its aged stock is patchy.

Checked 2026-10-05 on Hombo's Mars Komagatake page (this distillery). Facilities can be used without a reservation, but reservations have priority when busy and groups of 10 or more are not accepted. Listed hours 9:00-16:00; closed 29 Dec-3 Jan, with possible temporary closures. Tours are free and tastings are paid. Barrel-warehouse tours are currently suspended.
